‘Six New Appointments at Big Y’

Big Y Foods Inc.’s Board of Directors announced several new appointments to key roles within the company. Devyn Blais from Ludlow, Massachusetts is now the vice president of finance, while John P. Fraro from Somers, Connecticut takes on the role of senior director of fresh foods. David J. Argento from Guilford, Connecticut is the new director of pharmacy, James T. Billingsley from Wilbraham, Massachusetts is the director of accounting, and Iliana Del Valle-Colon from Somers, Connecticut is the director of deli and bakery. Amanda M. Pereira from East Longmeadow, Massachusetts has been appointed as the kitchen director of treasury.

Michael P. D’Amour, President, and CEO of Big Y, expressed his satisfaction with the promotions, highlighting the valuable contributions these individuals bring. He is confident that their collaboration will lead to continued innovation and excellence in serving the community. Argento, in his new role as director of pharmacy, will oversee the strategic direction and goals for the pharmacy division, ensuring operational excellence across the company’s 33 in-store pharmacies.

Big Y Foods is a prominent supermarket chain in New England with over 10,000 employees. Recognized by Forbes and Newsweek for its commitment to diversity and employee satisfaction, the company has a long history dating back to its founding by brothers Paul and Gerald D’Amour in 1936. The company’s name, Big Y, originated from an intersection in Chicopee, Massachusetts, where two roads form a “Y.”
