Prezent Vivo has appointed Lalit Mahapatra as its new Chief Financial Officer as the AI-powered communication company enters a new phase of growth in the life sciences market.
Mahapatra brings more than 25 years of experience across global finance, mergers and acquisitions, capital management and business transformation. His appointment comes as Prezent Vivo expands its AI-native platform and combines software with human expertise for life sciences organizations.
At Prezent Vivo, Mahapatra will lead financial strategy, capital planning, business intelligence and financial operations. He will also work with the executive team to evaluate growth opportunities, guide strategic investments and support the company’s expansion.
The appointment gives Prezent Vivo a finance executive with experience in both corporate finance and the life sciences sector.
Mahapatra previously served as Global Head of M&A at Navitas Life Sciences, where he led cross-border transactions and business integrations across global markets. He later became the company’s CFO. Most recently, he served as CFO of Flex Films’ U.S. operations.
His industry background is particularly relevant to Prezent Vivo, which develops communication technology for life sciences organizations operating in a highly specialized and regulated environment.
The company recently launched Vivo 1.0, an AI-native platform that combines an interactive content studio, AI-generated scientific posters, editorial services and a flexible model for accessing AI and expert services.
Mahapatra’s arrival also comes as financial leadership is becoming more closely connected to AI strategy across the technology industry.
For companies building and deploying AI at scale, decisions around infrastructure, product development and market expansion increasingly involve significant capital commitments. Microsoft, for example, expects around $175 billion in calendar 2026 capital expenditure, while Alphabet has raised its 2026 guidance to $195 billion-$205 billion.
That environment is changing the role of CFOs. Finance executives are increasingly expected to assess not only traditional financial performance, but also whether investments in AI infrastructure and products can generate sustainable returns.
For Prezent Vivo, Mahapatra’s mandate comes as the company seeks to scale an AI business within life sciences, where technology adoption must be balanced with scientific accuracy, domain expertise and regulatory requirements.
His experience in M&A, capital allocation and operational finance could therefore play a role in decisions around how the company expands its platform and business.
The appointment illustrates a broader shift in the AI industry: as companies move beyond experimentation and into growth, CFOs are becoming increasingly involved in deciding where capital should go and how technology investments can translate into business outcomes.
