The Peugeot E-208 is more powerful and scratchy – News and Previews

Electrification is increasingly present in the Peugeot range, and even the 208 has not remained insensitive to the fascination of sustainability, as underlined by the presence in the range of the 100% electric variant, the E-208, capable of traveling more than 400 km with a full tank of energy.
In Spain, during the E-308 test, it was also possible to drive the E-208; an important car for the house of the lion, considering that in 2022 it became the best-selling electric car in Europe in the B segment. With the same power as the E-308’s engine, i.e. 156 hp, the E-208 demonstrates a certain verve in mixed sections, due to a reduced weight resulting from more compact dimensions, despite having a less rapid steering and a less composed set-up than its older sister.

Ride comfort is still valid, thanks to a quiet cabin and a less rigid stance on bumps compared to the E-308. The more intimate driving position also offers better visibility of the instrument panel, while the 10-inch central screen evolves the previous 7-inch one and, on the Allure and GT variants, is HD.
The finish is pleasing to the eye and touch, even in spite of a smaller segment than that of the E-308. Adopting a smooth driving pattern, the 51 kWh battery promises a range of more than 400 km in the WLTP combined cycle (homologation pending).
In addition, it can be recharged from 20 to 80% in less than 25 minutes by accepting a power of 100 kW from the DC columns, and offers two on-board chargers for AC charging, the 7.4 kW one, as standard, and the 11 kW one available as an option. On the road, but also when stationary, the new E-208 also stands out for its sportier look, with the LED light signature with three vertical claws on the front bumper, which is also repeated horizontally for the rear light clusters.
The picture is completed by the new grille that echoes the colour of the bodywork, and the new Peugeot logo.
The GT also features gloss black wheel arches that contrast with the base livery, and also offers the option of having a black roof, while gloss black mirrors are standard for all versions. Available in 3 trim levels, named Active, Allure, and GT, the E-208 has a starting price of 36,430 euros.
