(CercleFinance.com) – Spie announced on Friday that it had won a 15 million euro contract in partnership with Equans for the extension and modernization of a metro line in Charleroi (Belgium).
This public contract, awarded by the Walloon Transport Operator (OTW), provides for the construction of eight stations over a total length of 5.5 km, the commissioning of which is planned for the third quarter of 2026.
Spie Belgium and Equans were tasked with creating these eight intelligent and automated stations with the aim of ensuring mobility, safety and comfort for travelers.
The work – which should start in 2024 – should last around two and a half years.
